[NEW 4K SCAN] The Beatles - Live at Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto (August 17th, 1966) [8mm Film]

An absolutely MASSIVE thank you to the original filmmaker James Ralston for his generosity in allowing his fantastic 8mm film of the Beatles to be professionally rescanned into 4K! James' YouTube channel is @RoadtoastGuitars .

I am proud to unveil this 8mm home movie shot by James Ralston at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto on August 17th, 1966, during the Beatles' afternoon performance. Although James himself posted a scan of this film onto his YouTube page in 2021, this has been freshly rescanned from the original 8mm film reels, and I can proudly say that this is one of the most significant transformations I've ever seen from a film rescan. I am very happy to have helped James get this film professionally scanned and fund the costs of the process.

I have also taken to syncing this film to the long-available Toronto evening show tape, and although it doesn't match perfectly at points (mainly the bits between songs), this is the closest we have to this performance captured on film (besides If I Needed Someone from the unreleased afternoon tape, which I have implemented.)

Another major thanks to Nicki Coyle at The Negative Space for her excellent work in scanning this film - while it's in black and white this scan proves how incredible of a film this is, and it would not have been possible without her excellent work!
