Prescribed Burns at Prairie Ridge Ecostation

Wildfires can be destructive events for forests, prairies, and other ecosystems, but they can also benefit the environment in several ways. Periodic, intentionally set fires — or prescribed burns — are used to deliver these benefits while minimizing the more harmful impacts of fires.
