Excellent job Matt. 45 years ago I spent an afternoon with a very old marine carpenter/cabinet maker. He explained how difficult it was to get the lines of the furniture to look sweet to the eye, to be practical, work and use the space efficiently.
Your words took me back in time .... quality craftsmen the pair of you.

Good call to have baskets instead of drawers. It would have been additional nightmares to build drawers for out-of-square spaces. You may not have been trained as a cabinet maker, but your skills to make this a good looking space exceeds many others. Love the content as well as the filming and editing.

Glad you decided against drawers as sometimes they are overused and take up space, add weight and time to manufacture. The baskets will also aid in air circulation and depending on what is stored, mold/ mildew....The "inspector" was a bit sluggish this time 🤣🤣 Junior is growing fast too btw! Great episode with the whole family and friend involved !

Hey Matt, you could hinge a door on the bottom of the shelves and have them fold down. You could cover each shelf with something solid without making it a drawer.
