I think by saying she's still an addict is like when they say, even when you are clean, once an adict, always an adict. It's a constant fight for the rest of your life. Everyday they fight to stay clean. That's why I'm so glad I never partook of the substance. The 80s "Just Say No" campaign scared me straight.

I'm LIKE 111, I can't forgive my mother & father. I was given up at the age of 11 to the system. My parents act ENTITLED just like her. They believe we should walk the abuse & hurt off. When alcoholics get clean or coke addicts get clean, she didn't say she was on it, she said l will always be an alcoholic even though l recovered.

She didn't say she's still using drugs. She said she's still an addict. Former alcoholics say the same thing. Although they may have stopped drinking with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous, they still refer to themselves alcoholics because if they're exposed to it they will resume using it immediately.

The “I don’t know what you’ve been told” part and expecting Simone as the child to come to HER really pissed me off. Simone said she distinctly remembers being severely neglected and not having food to eat while her mother was on drugs. She doesn’t have to be told anything—she LIVED it and her experience is hers and until her biological mom is ready to truly take accountability and hear Simone’s truth instead of invalidating it, she’s gonna be waiting by that phone for a VERY long time.

Mom abandoned the child, not the other way around. Therefore the child doesn’t owe mom sh!t. And for those who say the child needs to “honor thy father and thy mother…” the child is honoring the mom my being the successful woman she is. The child has no emotional debts to pay. Period.
