After reading many uneducated responses and claims on FB RV groups it is relaxing to listen to someone give good, factual, knowledgeable advice. As a retired, fifty years on the job mechanic, those people wear me out. I realize some are there, truly trying to help but so many others are just making claims to justify their opinions because that's what they bought or did/do and, "It hasn't killed me yet!" is their only guarantee. And why, oh why, with pretty much all the information in the world on the internet accessible with the same finger tips they used to type in their questions on FB, don't they google search their questions? People will query and argue with a hundred others they don't know, with no idea what practical knowledge or experience they might have, but refuse to spend a few minutes and contact a manufacturer's support center or website for information. It is truly bizarre!

The two weeks I spent at the NRVTA helped me do as you are going over Todd. You were an awesome instructor and your presentations were on a level, I an uneducated man could understand. Have upgraded my batteries but since I have an inverter/charger I didn't change out my converter/charger to lithium capable yet. Had already put in a hardwired EMS and carry a spare in case it gets fried. Installed smart starts, recently went to Morryde and had the IS put under our Vanleigh/Vilano. That has been the big game changer, what a difference in the pull. It even takes a lot of the stress off of me. I even feel better after a 250 mile day. One thing I think is a must is the roof. We had in 2018 a Flex Armor roof put on. With all the solar panels placed on the roof and with all those screws in the roof even though we dicor them I feel better about the roof after the Flex Armor was done to it. Keep up the good work and see ya in the funnies. A past student of yours Rush Songer

1) Surge Protector/Energy Management System (EMS) - Protects the RV from electrical surges, high/low voltage, and improper connections.

2) Easy Start for Air Conditioners - Reduces the large power surge needed to start the air conditioner, extending its life and enabling use with generators.

3) Lithium Battery Upgrade - Provides more stable voltage and longer life compared to lead-acid batteries, improving the performance of 12V appliances.

4) Portable Water Softener - Helps prevent mineral buildup and hard water issues, improving the longevity of the RV’s water systems.

5) Suspension Upgrade - Improves ride quality and reduces structural wear from rough rides, with options for independent suspension or upgraded leaf spring systems.

Not sure what you're recommending re: Moride - we did upgrade to wet bolts since our originals were worn out. That's not a high cost item and will make your unit last longer.

Thank you, Todd for all of these videos, RV Unplugged, the Big Battery and everything you do for the RV community. House in the market, and your videos have been helping us to prepare. You are helping us, and so many others, with all of your videos. Besides big batteries and the suspension for a Class A, what other services do you offer at the NRVTA facilities?

Using the ActiveStart RV plug and play you get all three protection. Surge, EMS, and Soft Start. I can run 1 A/C with a 2000 W generator. Great vid thanks

Gooood informative video Todd!!! You are correctomundo on everything you touched on!!! And, having done our legwork for full timing in our 5ver for 2 years now, we are outfitted as you recommend.

Just wish the Big Beard battreeees were out when we had our coach built🫤

Do you need a surge protector while using a generator? Or are they only beneficial if hooked to shore power?

Thanks for the informative video! On suspensions....I believe EVERY trailer should have shock absorbers! I don't understand why they don't put them on from the factory. Roadmaster makes a bolt on kit that I will be installing on my RV over the winter along with the MORryde X-Factor crossmember system to reduce the side to side forces on the suspension and frame.

If you upgrade batteries to lithium do you also have to upgrade the converter/ charger ?

How do you get the water softener drained completely between uses? I thought I had mine drained but there was still enough water in it that it froze and cracked the tank. I did get a new tank but haven't used it much as I can't figure out a good way to drain it completely. Apparently the surface tension between the water and mineral in the tank keeps some of the water in it.

Do you ship batteries to Canada? If yes, does free ground shipping still apply or is that just for Continental US? Thanks!
