Richard Farnsworth is a treasure. A relatively unknown actor who shines in every he movie he appears in. I saw this years ago and would love to see it again.

I saw this when it was first released in 83. It has always been in my top 5 favorite movies. In the 90s, it played at The Uptown Theatre on Young street in Toronto. I parked my taxi and had to see it again. I was the Only person in the theater.

I saw this with my father during its first release, and I have been praying for it to come back on DVD. I remember it coming out on VHS ages ago but this is such a handsome, beautiful film that I'm glad it finally got the 4K treatment it deserves. Richard Farnsworth was a gem. He was well nicknamed "Diamond". That was a fine actor.

I’ve been waiting for 15 years to see this movie so long ago that I don’t remember how I heard about it. My dvd came in the mail today. The wait was worth it’s perfect.

I am so excited to see this film again. I wish it were on the big screen like I saw it multiple times the year in came out in 1982. But a 4K restoration will have to do!

I'm glad this is finally getting a restoration and release. It's incredibly beautiful film, but unfortunately got caught in the death of Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope studio.

There was another "Grey Fox" who was infamous, and probably the most prolific of all stagecoach robbers in American history; he was credited for holding up twenty-nine stagecoaches between 1875 and 1883 in northern California. He had no known accomplices during his robberies. He “worked” alone. His name was Charles E. Boles aka: “Black Bart.” He also became renowned as the “Poet Highwayman.” He was finally tracked down and captured in San Francisco, California by Wells Fargo & Company’s Express’ chief detective: James B. Hume.

Paul Thomas Anderson must have seen this film. Stylistically and..."I've got ambitions in me that just won't quit."

Seeing that it was based on a true story is remarkable. Stranger than fiction.

I saw it on VHS rental in the 80's, and about 10 years ago there was a good copy on Youtube.

Farnsworth got to live 80 long years, i read he lived on a ranch and at the end with terminal cancer put himself out of his suffering a bit like the cowboys he played.

If some stupid pandemic hadn’t hogged the attention, this release would have been heralded by every outlet that covers the movies. So glad this was finally done!
