The over 40 caught me. I’m 69, been playing decades and still not that good, but really enjoy playing. I play medium gauge big dreadnaught six strings, 12 strings, baritone, and mandolin, octave mandolin, and mandola. I’m needing and will look for advice on hand strength and such, as arthritis is now coming into play. I do stretches, wear a compression glove sometimes, sometimes ice my hand after a session, like a baseball pitcher ices his arm, and also use warm moist heat. So as you target this age group and older, any tips you have for hand strength and maintenance would be welcome.
