Great job on this build! One tip, make your ferric at least 3:1 water:ferric and then take 2/3 of that and mix with 1/3 muriatic acid and your copper won’t bleed at all. Perhaps we need to get you into the next challenge?

I know this video is about 2 years old, but in all sincerity, I loved the Buterfly, Steelix and Magnemite build and your video teaching common twists, I'm a beginner smith and mostly selftaught and those were really cool, I'm still getting tools, still need an anvil and all power tools that easy up our life (belt grinder, hidraulic press, etc) but seing those videos motivated me more.

greetings from Brazil!

Wow for someone who doesn’t consider himself a bladesmith that is one of the coolest knives I’ve ever seen. Going to try to repeat it

This is a really cool knife you made. I didn’t really know you could pattern weld copper and steel in the same billet. I’d like to get into this, and try my hand at making a knife like this. You did a great job, and you should be proud of your work.

Awesome build. The video kept coming up on my feed but never took the time to look it up. Knife came out great. Especially for your first Cumai build. My first wasnt nearly as nice but it was a test with some lower quality materials to make sure I could make it stick before i spent way too much money making cooler stuff. Now im off to see the butterfly build!

I'd do a cube of these metal lasagna and put it in CNC cutter to make a watch case. That would be sick.

That's amazing. Nice work! I see the copper is pretty close to the edge, especially on one side. Do you think it will still hold an edge if you ever have to grind it up that far over the years of sharpening? Hopefully this question makes sense.

Great build Phil. For some reason I've not been getting any notifications for your videos. Something had turned off my notifications bell. I came looking as I've not seen any posts from you in a while. Maybe a reason for your lower than usual traffic
