Whenever I hate how I sound, whenever I sound stale and boring, I know that a breakthrough is right around the corner. It took me a long time to learn that not liking my own playing is simply a natural phase in the cycle of the growth and learning process - feeling that way helps us search for the next new thing and breakthrough into our next level of musicianship.
