Thanks for the comparison! It must have been a headache to get them all in and out!

Incredible video man, Loving the content!!!

This for me confirmed what I was thinking after trying most of these, Tamrielic textures by an absolute mile, I can't recommend that texture pack highly enough, I was mixing and matching and trying texture packs with Majestic Mountains and so forth and settled on TT, That mod covers everything, the mountains are incredible and all the landscape textures blend pretty much seamlessly

This was a really helpful tour, especially when you gave the closeup followed by a larger view -- I've watched videos where you only got the close up, and I don't have the visualization skills to imagine how that fits in with the rest of the landscape. The landscape choices can be overwhelming, so thank you for picking a manageable number, too. I also love seeing in the comments how people have chosen different favorites -- it's great that the community has created art that appeals to a wide range of tastes.

This is an excellent comparison. The inclusion of both close ups and whole scenes is incredibly useful. I thought by the first half I knew for sure Tamrielic was my favourite. But taking into account the whole image and not just looking directly at the ground. Skyland is maybbeee a little more seamless with the rest of the world even if it doesn't look as nice. Serpentrional looks amazing but you can really see the photogrammetry work which makes it look a little too real for the game world. Parallax 2020 for towns I think really stands out due to all the stonework (but none seen here) but I think more than a couple times I think the stylistic choices didn't fit as well.

I think aMidianborn was the best one. The color scheme for most of the landscapes appealed the most to me due to how dark it is and it has excellent river beds.

Only the vanilla comparison was missing, apart from that excelent video bro

So, after seeing this incredible video I know one thing : not one of them is “the best”. There is something in each of them that looks great.

That means : creating one big texture pack from bits and pieces from all of the shown textures.
I feel an all-nighter coming up :0

Thank you so much Waza for your efforts to put this video together for us. Very much appreciated!
Cheers

Septentrionial Was the winner for me personally, just can't argue with those big scene shots. These are so damn good though! I still think back to the 2012/2013 days of texture mods and the difference is startling, it's nuts how far this community has come.

Excellent video comparison. I'm using Tamrielic Landscapes in combination with Septentrionial Landscapes; I really like the dark road texture in Septentrionial. Note that winedave has a separate landscape package, Northern Shores, plus Septentrionial provides complete landscape coverage. I will wish more of the big landscape mods had such a modular approach.

I am using tamrielic textures. However, I am adding the river files from Skyrim 3D Landscapes Groundcovers for aquatic plants. I'm adding a water lily mod, skyrim 3d landscapes and skyrim 3d rocks mods. It doesn't even require complex parallax.

For as hard as snow is to do texturewise, all the mods had really nice snow textures. I liked the Tamrielic textures a lot and of course Skyland...but I'm partial. Skyrim2020 is a standout too.

I get the impression that Skyland is the most consistent and diverts less from the vanilla landscape. Tamrielic really is great, probably better than Skyland quite often, but it seems to default to picking warmer and sandier textures. 2020 Parallax can be amazing, but it seems like they really want to show off the parallax so they tend to make tends more busy. The snow one is a good example.

Using Skyland in my mod list.

Damn... had a hard 5 days figuring out how to mod this game "To the next level" and at last I was able to do it. ENB is fucking awesome.

Thank you so much for this video, I was using a different texture pack but after this comparison, I absolutely LOVE Tamriellic!

It so hard to choose, there is something good in each of them, but at the moment I'm most inclined to either Skyland or parallax2020.

I love the comparison since it shows the same animations at the same time of day in different places for each comparison. I love the variety of times of day and settings selected too. This is one of those videos that I wished I had watched before I just installed a texture replacement mod. Variety is great since people have different preferences. Short breakdown:

I ranked these in order of lighter/fantasy (at top) to gritty/busy realism (at bottom):

Tamrielic Textures SE 1 (My Personal Favorite)
Skyrim 2020 Parallax by Pfuscher
Septentrional Landscapes
Skyland - A Landscape Texture Overhaul
Skyrim 3D Landscapes
aMidianBorn Landscape

After watching this and skipping between the textures for a while... surprisingly I might have to go with amidianborn’s
They offered a good level of consistency and I felt like the colors more match the cold harsh environment that I’m trying to go for

Skyland, Septentrional Landscapes, and Skyrim 2020 Parallax stood out as the best to me but all of them had something great to offer

I use Skyrim 2020 by Pfuscher. It's the most detailed for my taste. And I use the full coverage of his base mods - Skyrim 2018, Skyrim 2019, Skyrim 2020.
But his mountains look a bit odd and out of place so that's the only thing I replaced with Majestic.
