2024 solar eclipse: What to expect during the minutes of totality

On Monday, April 8, a rare total eclipse of the sun will be viewable across a swath of 13 states. Correspondent David Pogue talks with amateur astronomer Ed Ting about what to expect during the minutes of totality; and with Cari White, chairman of the Eclipse Oversight Committee for Jonesboro, Arkansas, where the town is expecting to temporarily double in size due to eclipse tourism traffic.

What to expect from from the minutes of totality? From news sources? Nothing like what we experienced in person and well away from big cites.
NASA and others will show you high resolution pictures. NOTHING replaces seeing this in person, witnessing the diamond ring, recording the fade of the sun into darkness and ethereal light, the drop in the temperature, and the re-emergence of the day.
I recorded all of this on my channel from real-time fade to near end of totality.

No one really mentions the astronomical coincidences that are needed for the sun and the moon to be in balance for an eclipse effect to happen. Almost like it was placed there
