I saw one when I was a little girl. We had a small pool on our patio and my father told us not to look directly at the sun but to look in the pool. We watched it happen, slowly getting darker till it was so dark. I would have been scared if my father wasn't there but he was! It was truly amazing, something many, many years later I will never forget. Love you dad ❤❤❤

I saw the one a few years ago in Oregon. Two things I didn't expect:
1. The sudden drop in temperature. I always assumed that the atmosphere holds in the heat for a while.
2. The glow. Pictures show a white ring around the moon but it's actually a bright white glow that pictures don't capture.
(3) BONUS: Animals were freaking out. All kinds of animals got noisy.

I think the shadows through the leaves of the tree was the coolest thing to see. I have pictures of that somewhere. I would not travel any distance to see one but having the 2017 eclipse totality in my own yard was pretty cool.

My birthday this year will be the most special day in my life because it is accompanied by an eclipse. May it be a blessing for the beginning of my new journey in this life. ❤❤❤

Seen the 2017 one in Oakridge Tennessee, what was amazing was the amount of birds seemingly trying to get to their nest then a split second, no sound not one peep...

I'm in Dallas, my son's birthday is the 10th and we're taking it all in and geeking out that day! Y'all enjoy the day and appreciate seeing the beauty of night and day simultaneously! Much love ❤️

Not to mention that you’ll be able to see a planetary alignment
and the “devils” comet will be within sight too. Amazing stuff truly!

Can't wait; I love eclipses. I'm right on the edge of the path of totality so we're going to drive about an hour to a lovely viewing spot and have a picnic. Got a set of new glasses & all set for it.

I almost love the shadow affect more then the true eclipse. I have glasses this time and I'm going to watch it. ❤ I can't wait ❤

It’s worth a drive to see a total eclipse. You may think a partial eclipse is good enough, but being in the path of totality is a completely different experience. This will be my second one. As soon as the first was over I decided to make it to the 2024 eclipse no matter the drive.

I'm a hand knitter and was outside working on a shawl while watching the crescent shadows all around me during the Oct 14th eclipse. I wondered if the eyelets in the shawl would also create crescent shadows. 🤔 The answer was *YES!!!* Lots of little nickel sized crescents. Since I'm in the path again on the 8th, I'm gonna gather a bunch my work and photograph what happens.

Being in the path of totality, our town is taking advantage of it by partying it up and cashing in on it. Hopefully, this rare event can help economically boost many other communities fortunate to be in the path of totality!

I experienced a total solar eclipse in my hometown back in 1994. We had an early dismissal from school and the principal, of course, told(over the morning announcements) not to look directly at it. All I did was take a glance, I didn't stare. To this day, I can see just fine. I experienced a partial one in 2017. I also glanced at that one, no damage. I also used it as an opportunity to go to the grocery store because it was so empty.

The 2017 Eclipse was on my birthday, August 21st, it was amazing. I live in Southern Illinois, and we're lucky enough to be in the 100% totality area again for the April 8th Eclipse. Enjoy the eclipse on your birthdays, everyone. It makes the day even better.
