Reconciliation

Procedure is HOW the lawsuit moves through the court process. Family law procedure is very different from other types of Louisiana legal actions.

Please be very very cautious when entering to a divorce proceeding if there are any sense of lingering feelings. If the parties begin to act as a husband and wife, if they begin to live together or sleep together, whatever makes others think they're getting back together, they're at risk of reconciliation.

Reconciliation is a risk because it allows the court to deny a divorce! If your divorce is denied based on reconciliation, you'll have to file a whole new divorce in a new docket number and pay a new filing fee.

This "reconciliation" does not include when the spouses are kind to one another and communicate like adults about kids and stuff. That's supposed to happen. Good communication is encouraged and will not destroy a divorce :)
