To avoid your tissue paper wrinkling (due to uneven absorption of moisture), give each side of the paper a spray of clear coat/sealer.

That looks great. Weirdly, I was just asking my crafty friend if she ever decoupaged on a fabric lamp shade because that’s what I want to do. And here you are … it’s serendipitous (I was watching a woman who rubs her decoupage paper with a wad of Saran Wrap to eliminate wrinkles and tears. You might want to try that because it seemed really effective.) Love you two, ❤️
