Finally the warm after the storm and a good day to begin the great tidy up.

The start of the year can feel very slow and often the weather holds us back. It has been great to finally begin by tidying up my greenhouse and getting some bargain compost.
Last year I built two raised beds that were deep and slowly over the year filled them with twigs and all sorts but today I finally added the final layer of last overs and straw before topping with new compost. The compost will ensure a great start to whatever I put into them.
I bought two types of tomato grow bags, one organic and the other enriched with everything young plants need. They both make big claims about 50% more growth so we will just wait and see now.
My garlic is doing well and I will need to find a sunny spot outdoors as they love the full sun.
I have repaired my small plastic greenhouse because although it has always been inside the plastic joints have become brittle and many have broken causing it to collapse in places.

Thats a great deal in the compost mate..glad you didn't suffer to much damage from the storm.
Plots on my site had a load of damaged things unfortunately.

Getting a great start to the season Jeremy. Envy your cold 39C here today after the same yesterday, First over 40C due next week. your raised beds look like the extra effort will bring reward.
