Peter Cullen is the only cast member to appear in every theatrical Transformers film. He voiced Optimus Prime throughout the series, but he didn’t enjoy filming Bumblebee. According to Peter, the studio decided to use a different voice actor throughout the production, and they only brought him in to re-record lines. This way, they didn’t have to pay him for multiple recording sessions, and he had to match the other actor’s performance since the animation was already completed.

Yeah this is just sad even when peter has always played Prime since G1. The story behind the prime voice was his brother Larry cullen telling peter before the Prime audition to not be one of thoes fake Hollywood hero's but to be a real hero and said "be strong enough to be gentle" and when peter went in for the audition Larry's voice came out and that is how we got the famous voice for prime. But yes he has always been the one and only voice for prime (except for beast wars, the energon trilogy, and transformers armada)

Ironic how Hasbro essentially built his career and yet didn't wanna pay him his worth for a character he helped turn into a cultural icon. Its putrid how voice actors are treated in the industry.

If Peter doesn't voice Optimus Prime in the sequel to Bumblebee I ain't watching it. Man come on!!! It's weird to hear a different Optimus Prime voice. Cullen was, is and will always be the voice for Prime.

I didn't see bumble bee because they didn't cast him as the original optimus prime, I mean he's the voice actor that gave optimus prime so much life. I wouldn't endorse it. I heard in his interviews they really want him out...

Also to everyone saying there is only one Optimus Prime im just letting you know that before the 07 movie peter hadn't played Optimus prime since 86 so the person who has spent the longest time playing Optimus prime is actually Gary Chalk who does q great Optimus has he was trained by Peter.

Not only that, the other actor was doing an impression of CULLEN'S Optimus Voice. So he had to match the cadence and general performance of a guy doing a so-so job of imitating him, because the motion capture was already synced to the other guy's line readings.

It’s sad what they’ve been doing to Peter Cullen. They cut him out of the Netflix series for some kid who does a horrible impression of him. All because he knows his worth and companies refuse to pay him his worth.
