I appreciate that there is an undercurrent of the first film's satire running through this game still: Every mission, even those that claim "VICTORY!", ends with your position overrun and the Federation in retreat.

Ok, that final retreat to the dropship, all the troopers walking backwards in a line, Morettas blazing, the music not *quite* the theme from the Klendathu drop scene but close enough... yeah, Terran Command is a fun game, but THIS is the experience I've been waiting for! 😁👌

This game is such a welcome breath of fresh air.
Massive lobby PvE experience, with base building, proximity chat, and objectives.
Works so well. & the Starship Troopers aesthetic really amplifies it.

"On the Bounce" is a very commonly used expression in the book. It's kind of funny that they used it here in this game, but it never gets quoted in any of the film adaptations. The mobile infantry in the book were all kitted out with rocket boosted exo-suits. They would fire off their ordinance mid jump hence the phrase "on the bounce".

the C4 can be placed, reloaded and placed some more, you can even set and remember it later.
to detonate, you need to aim in the general direction, you'll see your icons to detonate. great for base defense, you can stand at N and lay bombs at S, just turn and click-click-click. you'll see the smoke clouds go off to know they've gone off.
They dont do damage to yourself so when you run for the dropship, you can lay them down and detonate the bugs behind you

There is a great starship troopers mod for the game Squad 10/10 recommend and they continue to update it, you can easily get 40+ people in it (id actually argue you need atleast 40 people to win depending on the map / game mode) you can build walls and turrets from the movies you can even have someone play as a camera man and it actually broadcasts the footage to a screen inside the command bunker.

Tiger Bug has been around for over a decade btw ^^ the first FPS Starship troopers game had them. it also had the King Bug, which was a human made bug to take control over from the Queen bugs. but it failed and you ended up having to kill it. it also had the Flyers and the other bugs in the first movie.

As a massive fan of Starship Troopers i been waiting for a proper Starship Troopers fps bug killing game. Absolutely loving the game and looking forward to the upcoming content. This is also a nice gift, given the Arc Raiders recent news, man that game killed itself within 2 letters before its even released.

So far I love this game. I've been playing it for around 3 days or so and it's surprisingly toxicity free. I don't think in all the games I've played I've heard one person lose their shit at someone. It's like everybody knows that everybody else is there because they loved the movie and people just want to have fun in the SST universe. Every game I get into there's people quoting the movie. This is a rare gem and I hope the Squad developers don't ruin it with microtransactions.

Maybe the power armor will be one of the perk upgrades making your character more tanky and possibly some other buffs, but a 4th class with a power armor character would also be very cool. Would also like to see the flamethrower and chemical spray as alternate pick-ups from the generator objective instead of just rocket launchers.
