Oooo I pulled out a horsetail like this a couple months back! Apparently a plumber had been out 4 years ago and cut a 2" hole in it instead of removing it. It was a miracle anything was getting through. So glad the roots weren't coming from inside the pipe... Very satisfying to yank that sucker out! ☺️

Think it's a plumber thing, I didn't enjoy it before I started plumbing lol it drives me crazy when the helper pulls it out. I wanna see the sewer water drop and flow

Never run out of gloves lol i actually just pulled on of those out yesterday it was a 5 footer ended up cutting out abs flange and gluing in a new one a got lucky

good job, my record is 30 ft in 6" pvc. they got in through the hole in a sample well lid. i only wear gloves running the spartans.

For future prevention of those roots crawling back over the flange and into the drain, pour some copper sulphate around the flange and use a 100% wax seal.
Or not, job security. Lol
