The best one for me, overall, is the apple spiral cutter/peeler/corer. The basic design is over 100 years old, and there's a reason why nobody's been able to improve on it. It's simply too perfect as it is. No only great for presentation, but if you're a baker (or want to be), there is nothing else you'll want to process fresh apples into perfect slices for a pie filling. Just cut a spiral in half and you have perfect peeled segments for layering in a pie crust or in a tin for a crumble, cobbler, or strudel.

The self-stirrer is a runner-up. A true life saver for people like me who can't be on their feet for long. Oh, the ravages of age...

Best thing I'd like to see on Chopped, Guy's Grocery Games, or a revival of either Cutthroat Kitchen or Iron Chef:America -
The bubble waffle iron. Would probably do a brilliant job on searing a load of scallops.
