I have used 89 octane with a stabilizer in my small engines for years and I’ve stored them full for years. if i feel like its been in there too long i just pump it out and put it in my car. Never had any problems. I prefer a full tank because my understanding is it prevents condensation from building in the tank.

Well done sir! If you have the bowl off and you're worried about a partially clogged jet / emulsion tube, squirt carb cleaner up from below with the straw.
ALWAYS start screwing in the spark plug by hand, the valve covers usually throw your spark plug socket alignment off.
For larger (running) engines that are hard to pull start. Pull them over slowly a couple of times, stop when you feel the compression building. Let the rope rewind then give a nice fast yank.

The rubber insert is actually to protect the ceramic coating on the outside of the spark plug lol. Holding it better is just one of the upsides of it. And you can also buy spark plug testers for a couple bucks to help you see the spark better

i have a simple rule with my little honda engines, if it doesnt start within 3 pulls something is wrong so give it a service (normally sorts it) and if not fix it. love my honda engines, i give them a hell of a work life but has never let me down, il never use any other engine brand. the peace of mind of a reilable tool is worth every penny
