Cher & The Loneliest Elephant - Official Trailer 2021

The documentary 'Cher and the Loneliest Elephant' follows Cher’s amazing journey to help relocate an elephant that had been living alone in a Pakistani zoo for nearly 9 years. Previous efforts to free the elephant had been in vain until Cher joined the fight ultimately founding Free The Wild to boost the movement. The documentary will premiere April 22nd on Paramount+ before airing on the Smithsonian Channel May 19th.

Elephants are my favorite wild animal. A cochlear implant company has an elephant as a mascot. After going through a very rare tumor which destroyed everything and the Cochlear Implant I had. I got the cochlear implant from MED-EL in my other ear and allows me to get an MRI every year to make sure the tumor doesn't grow again. When they found out that elephants are my favorite, they sent me a stuffed elephant with a cochlear implant near its ear. I cried because I had been through so much in that process so the thought of sending that to me meant so much.
Cher using her connections to save this poor elephant means a lot. I can't believe the elephant was alone and treated horribly for 35 years. Now he knows home and love.
