I just bought my very first Crimping Plier which is identical to the one shown in this video. It came with no instructions so your instructions were a big help into taking the guesswork out of how to use it, particularly the wire stripping part. Thanks for posting and sharing your instructions. :)

The Yellow, blue and red dot represents has a crimp tool for insulated connectors, color coded matched for the red ( 0-1.5mm), blue ( 1.5 - 2.5mm), , yellow ( 2.5mm to 4mm) such as blade, Fast on, ring and spade . The others below are for crimping non-insulated terminals such as ferrules . . Try crimping one with the color coded and it will leave a wider mark and will bend all the metal to the wire thus providing a cold joint for higher currents. I have one of this and another one which is only for insulated, color coded.

Why did you use the non-insulated crimping slot for an insulated terminal?

Thanks for this. Very helpful as I had bought but not used yet due to shockingly bad instruction leaflet.

lol I just was looking for an instruction for this exact model and this is nice. It's really handy to be able to mod your own cables, especially at these prices.

Does it matter that when you squeeze the crimp pliers, they pierce the insulation, exposing a small area of the copper wire?

Little the wiser really because what we are not told is what could go wrong, and what to do about it. Following these instructions I was still able to pull the terminal end off the wire. The crimp had not worked. Am I pressing the wrong spot? Should it be over both the plastic sleeve of the crimp and the wire insulation inside it?

A co izolované spojky? Modrá, červená, růžová? Který slot použít?

You are using the wrong part to crimp the insulated (red, blue or yellow plastic) terminals!
You're supposed to use the spot with the three colored dots.

Thanks for the video. Will it be possible to use a white / light colured background to see the black parts of the tool? Due to the background of the black casing, it is sometimes difficult to spot the Moving parts that are working on the cables.

Video didn’t explain how to use the tiny connector with a narrow (0.5mm?) tube attached. Are these ‘splash-proof’? I assume they are used to connect small diameter wires with the butt connectors? There is also a packet of slender metal tubes which fit inside them. I expect these are reducers to enable connection with even narrower gauge wires?
