The fact that Fialeja like 10 years ago made up the lyrics to the lullaby, accepted by the fandom as basically canon from that point on, will never stop fascinating me.

I cant help but imagine that it's actually just Davy Jones singing, alone on the Flying Dutchman's deck, under the most raging of storm, with tears in his eyes while he remember a song he will never hear sang by the women he loved anymore.
It's a duet sang by a forever alone man and the memory of the goddess that stole his heart.

Since I'm older, knowing that davy jones went through, knowing him I actually prefer him MORE than Salazar, blackbeard and Barbosa all together, but pirates was and were my childhood film, now I'm 20

Davey Jones and his love, a beautiful duet that causes feelings of internal meloncholly, the range of emotions felt when losing someone you love so much, greif, anger, recollection, then back to greif. The first is when they leave. The second is you dealing with the aftermath, blaming everyone and everything around you, the third is you reminiscing about them, how great they were, sugar coating some of their actions, making them seem better than they really were, and the fourth is you realizing that no matter what you do, their gone. I don't know whether or not that was intentional, but I don't give a damn. Still perfect.

I have to say the only thing that surprised me about this cover is that you both sang the entire song. I imagined it would be more of a back and forth between Davy Jones (Alex) and Calypso (Fialeja).


The Split up would have been something along the lines of this:

1:15 is the most powerful crescendo i have heard in a duet in ages, makes me feel empowered like I actually wanna steal a ship and become a pirate in the 1500’s

Davy Jones was always such an intriguing character. Embittered by love, yet still clinging to the fragment. Is he cursed because he still clings to the hope of a someday, or he just can’t let go of the rage despite the pain it causes him?

And at the same time, he is so willing to pull lovers apart for the sake of his “job” (see Will and Elizabeth).
