But because of her charisma, she won hearts. She is not only an artist but also a host, a drama performer and the mother of three adopted children.

She’s much more than just simply a transgender woman but that’s how the western lens is going to peg her- Chinas exception. So on the world stage she will be a great ambassador for chinese culture. Absolutely agree with her that the importation of western labels is a problem - it may lead to hardening of sexual and gender differences rather than how ancient Chinese people just included people with different lifestyles and practices without labelling and organizing them into stigmatized groups. Her pride and confidence in China and Chinese values is wonderful to see
