She being transgender is quite irrelevant to her popularity, at least to me. She is funny, gracious and I especially love her fascinating background of being a veteran dancer. Just interesting to see someone with extraordinary body and mind.

the ballet snippets, the way she used to dance is breathtaking, those control, the strength. No wonder they put her as the host for that dance show. She out danced almost all the contested in there.

Intelligent, out-spoken, talented, positive. Love her talk show. Her story tells us that you should just be a decent person and be true to yourself; gender is irrelevant.

That 40-year-old pretty woman looks like early 20s. I'll date her for sure. The old lady calling her "too old" is so rude.

She's a beautiful and very talented dancer. An Pioneer artist of her time. Any of that idea can be a good topic and title for this documentary. I don't see which part of being a tv host or transgender can speaks more than her art and her contribution to Chinese modern contemporary art form.

Comments are pretty gross on this. I don't see why she has to be a transgender tv host why can't she just be a tv host? Its not like her being transgender affects the quality of her work or anything

At first I thought people are overreacting when they promote LGBT rights with protests and events and that LGBT groups are treated better and better. But the comment section tells me that not only those activists efforts are not enough, education also has failed in western society too. That's why we see people repeating the exact same word, trying to shame other normal human beings. Ain't that right? Mr. Warped human being?

I'm fascinated with Jin Sing, she is a transgender woman who shows a very conservative view on the Chinese Media.

Oh well these comments are delightful, literally who cares if it's her choice and it makes her happy? She's not trying to force every straight male on the planet to become trans lmao

Why are people so butt hurt the way somone wants to live? Let her be! Yes she is born a man and will always be genetically a man. But if she wants to be called a woman trying to live as one, why so angry about that? How does that affect your life? 🤔

"the fact remains that her gender is irrelevant to her art" she is literally giving an interview about how being transgender contextualized her experiences as an artist and the most liked comments are people thinking theyre being thoughtful and respectful to her work by denying the things that she herself is directly telling you were important in becoming the person she is? i just dont think comments like "I should go back and find my own roots as a woman" should be interpreted as "being transgender was inconsequential in the production of beautiful and meaningful things for me." like doesnt anyone find it odd that every comment seems slightly embarrassed to admit their feelings about her and has to 'de-politicize' themselves with "it has nothing to do with her being trans?" like i know people think it sounds like theyre putting themselves above a social issue so as to be respectful to trans people, but it doesnt come across that way. it doesnt make a trans girl feel better after theyve experienced hate crimes for you to smile and say "well dont worry, your work is important to me because i dont see you as a man." it makes them feel alone. because we Are treated differently. often by those very people who go online and say "i dont see gender variance i just see you as who you are." if it feels like a weird nonsensical paradox that trans people want you to both remember that theyre trans and forget that they're trans, then you secretly are in the perfect position to understand the pain and confusion and cycles of torment that trans people experience. that weird uncomfortable openness you feel when you think "what if i say something wrong... i have to be precise in my language to avoid mistakes" is like a photo negative of what it feels like to be transgender on the inside. we can feel your awkwardness and embarrassment when you talk to us, just as you can feel ours. and yet that discomfort is actually what it feels like to extend empathy towards someone who has been repeatedly harmed and then told "well you know i wouldnt do that to you because you look normal to me" feels like. especially so when they believe that you are part of the reason they have been left to feel that way. sit with that discomfort and reflect on why listening to transgender people tell their stories makes you feel strange and awkward and often hurt. it is how we feel. we are showing you that that is what our lives are like around people who refuse to untangle their discomfort with us and then go on to try to 'protect us' in an effort to avoid recognizing and questioning their uneasiness.

In the meanwhile this public figure advocates "男尊女卑"(woman is born to serve man). She is very proud of publishing how to abuse her adopted daughter for making that poor girl become a "real woman". That poor little will get cursed by that evil woman for running like a boy in the public places, or get bitten up for didn't cook for the her brothers. I don't discriminate anyone for their outlooks, but I'll criticize an evil woman who has a discriminated-mind.
