Mom doesn't hate dad. It's just in the mom's nature to protect the newborns because dads are known to hurt or even eat the babies despite how 'nice' the dad is or how curious. Once babies are older, mom will start letting her guard down.

I remember we used to have this little Chihuahua/Maltese/Poodle mix. When he became a father, he brought all of his toys to the puppies. Then he took the toys back once the puppies were old enough to actually play with them.

Aww Poor daddy, he's being such a gentle giant. He so curious about his little ones. But mama being so protective of her precious fur babies. Mama has strong instincts, such a great mama. No worries once their older, he can play with them 😍🥰🤣💚

She REALLY didn’t want him near them! Funny. She will relax as they grow.

That instinct to protect your baby is strong. My husband once grabbed our daughter too rough (he was half asleep and trying to move her) and I outright punched him on instinct. It was wild, it felt like a sneeze. Reminded me of how my dad’s dog Diana bit me after she had surprise puppies (stray, vet never told dad she was pregnant), and she looked so confused about having my hand in her mouth.

What a beautiful cute family. Always lovely to see dog dads interested in their pups and dog moms protecting them. I hope mom and dad work out their child support issues - she doesn't look happy!

Mama was right on point when pops came in for a peek. Even when daddy gave mom a quick sniff, she was like, NOPE BACK OFF! THAT'S WHAT GOT US IN THIS MESS IN THE FIRST First a sniff, then a cutesy nudge, then PUPPIES! Now, GO AWAY!

My cocker spaniel was a great mum, but whenever dad wanted to say hi she was a mama bear. When they were old enough she happily handed them over to dad, he was a young Jack Russell and an amazing dad. They were a sweet family of 9. Animals do not complicate their roles, there is a time and place. My cocker spaniel once body checked the dad in mid leap to get into the puppy area, they were only a few days old. ❤
