Looking forward to seeing your beautiful spaces :)

Let me know what you think of this video format - I'd personally love to feature more user submitted spaces as they provide a much more relatable inspiration for many.

I like this format where you show examples of designer successes and normal people successes to prove that these concepts are achievable by everyone.

Wow Reynard! This video is your best yet, IMO! All of these homes have so much character, they are so well thought through, lots of colour and interesting choices. And your descriptions of what makes them work so well is truly a masterclass. Brilliant! Thank you so much Reynard 🙏👍🎯

I love how you are still able to pull lessons from spaces that aren't at all your style, it's very helpful!

I loved this format! Your breakdown of the different design concepts was very helpful. Sometimes, I just look at a picture of a room and think "I like it" (or not), but I can't articulate why. This video helped me hone in on the elements. Thanks!

I adore this video format! I am NOT a Designer by any stretch; my SOP is to keep messing with a space until I feel something click inside me. I love a mishmash of styles and used to have that in my home. Right now, we are living in the Canadian Arctic, where there are a few obstacles to designing a home well, i.e., no stores to purchase anything but the most basic of groceries, INSANE shipping costs to get materials here, no craftsmen to install materials if you do manage to get them here, and - most importantly - in this climate, where temperatures range from +40C to -60C over the course of the year, it is function over form at every turn. While I think I have done an admirable job making our house comfy and cozy, it does not rate posting it up.

I learned so much from this video, Reynard. By going back and forth through the different styles to point out the basic structure, it helps me see the individual touches instead of getting mired in the beauty of the room. I’m not sure if that makes sense to you, but when you showed the Sharon Radisch living room and pointed out the items that created balance, I felt like I ‘got it’! That was my own personal AHA moment, as I was not equating the sideboard and the desk nor the tree and the vase with the flowering stems. I was getting too caught up in the specific label that I was missing the big picture and I can tell you that this is the FIRST time in my sixty years that I could understand the underpinnings of the designs!

Thank you so much, Reynard! I am by no means savvy yet, but I instinctively know what feels right and can’t wait to keep learning from you the reasons behind the feeling. Hugz from Canada’s (very snowy) Arctic❣️❣️🇨🇦

Very well done Reynard! Many people never realize how these earth tones (Blue, Green, Browns etc..) come together in our living space.

Love that ceiling in the brownstone! I put a medallion around my ceiling fan's base, and it adds so much charm with the coved ceilings.

It’s the 70’s sauvie island house that did it for me. I was a little nervous using a William morris wallpaper in my laundry room, I was only going to do the shelf but now after seeing it used throughout a dining room I’m going all in, the walls are going to look amazing. Thank you!!!❤

Your suggestion of not rushing to judgment made me laugh at myself for crying out, "Well, you can tell they don't have a big dog." Slowly adapting our condo to be warm, but still leaning towards hanging all the furniture on the walls & from the ceiling because of the constant German shepherd shed :)) Had to fire Roomba. Appreciate the advice on how to keep minimalist from appearing stark raving lunatic--esp. the repurposed ceramic lighting in the Doug fir wrapped island home. Thank you, Reynard.

I like that the presenter doesn't pretend the flaws aren't there, but is generous and kind with praise for people's successful design choices.

These videos are proving to be priceless to me. They’re making me realise what I do and don’t like.
I really don’t like plain rooms with wood. They’re so boring to me.
I much prefer darker rooms with rich blues and greens.

@ReynardLowell All of these homes had facets of decorating I liked but the 1970's Island River House made me want to move in! Putting the same color wood on the ceiling and floor made it cozy and that fireplace was a great contrast in texture with those shiny tiles. The floral wallpaper and colors in the rear room on the right are picked up by the floral arrangement and art on the right side of the wall. A lot of thought went into this!

Love your video format, Reynard, especially how you give an overview of the design and revisit each place pointing out individual effects, like unconventional symmetry, color schemes and why each style works. Thank you for making it relatable.
