Recorded with Fraps, 30 FPS @ 1280*1024, cut to 1280*720 in VirtualDub and edited in Windows Live Movie Maker.

We take so much for granted these days but I'll be damned if this didn't blow my mind back in the day. It was the most incredible thing I had ever seen in a game. You can climb anything and everywhere - imagine that!

Thank you for this. Stupid glitchy PC port wouldn't let me go around the corners like you so I thought there must be another way up but could never find it. Wasted loads of my time trying to figure it out thanks to Ubisoft's crappy programming.

Climbing was difficult in the first two games. You have to at least think a bit when doing it. It was very satisfying when you reached the top of a building.

Now you just have to press forward and it'll do everything for you.

I like the climbing mechanics in the first part. You had to turn on your brain to get anywhere. In parts of the past few years, this has now been made so easy that even a brain-dead person can do it. Simply pushing up is enough, even on the steepest walls of all. Those who hated climbing so much in the first part must be overwhelmed with the simplest things.

So revolutionary this game was! The free flowing climbing mechanics is now what all games use! This game was a marvel at the time and still is in my opinion! This is like the half life 2 of open world games!

Alternate route i found after an hour at 0:40 just jump backwards & Altair will grab the tower behind, will save your time & head from pain
