Dallas-area 7-year-old girl disappearance: Case transitions from search to investigation | LiveNOW

The Wise County Sheriff's Office says they are transition from a search with an investigation to an investigation with a search as they look for 7-year-old Athena Strand, who disappeared from her Wise County home on Wednesday night. An AMBER Alert was issued for Strand on Thursday, even though the sheriff doesn’t have evidence to indicate that she was abducted.

You need to be checking inside peoples homes. Sorry but 7 yr old kids aren't going to get that far from home without being scared. This the same with Michael Vaughn. Spent so much time checking fields when he was abducted by a neighbor and probably right down the road the whole time.

These men are salt of the earth type men. You can see how much they genuinely care about this little girl's wellbeing, but they are putting effort into staying poised and grounded as they answer those questions. They have their effort and exhaustion written all over their faces, I truly believe that anything that can be done for this sweet babygirl, they will absolutely do it. 110%. Lord sumin ain't right about this.. the chief saying that she had an argument with the step mom "which is not unusual for a lot of 7yr olds & a step parent, & the child got upset & walked away & the stepmother thought she would come back as she always does but she didn't " ....now, what in the hell is normal about allowing a 7yr old to just leave & walk away & thinkin she will come right back ?? Am I crazy ?? Cuz I'm telling u now, I've raised 2 sons & I have 2 grandkids & not one time for one second would I think that it's acceptable for any of them to "get mad & leave & assume they need space that they will come back soon"..u can walk ur mad behind to your room but thats as far as your gonna go... wtf is wrong with these parents in this world ?? That just don't sound right to me at all. & they said she got off the bus, got into an argument with step mom but step mom didn't call police til 6:40pm... I mean....am I missing something??? & I in no way wanna participate in making innocent folks guilty but if what their saying is the correct sequence of events I'm calling CAP....somebody lyin.
