Nothing is unhackable but this is as close as it gets for the average person. Very Cool Security Measure

Google: Since we adapt the YubiKey, we never have an employee's account being hacked
Also Google: *If you are being hacked, you are no longer our employee*

You can get them on sale for so much less than 50 usd. Be sure to get 2 of them and mirror everything you add to make sure in the case you lose one you still have your 2FA

Physical keys are the way to go if you're dealing with an account with SUPER sensitive information on

It’s just a forgetful event away from losing access to all of your data permanently. Yes, I know there should be and will be a backup, but solving 2FA problem with physical key comes with their own cost as well, and I don’t mean $50 to get one.

We use this for work 😂 I use my cat's paw for authenticating when it prompts me to touch the security key 😂😂😂

You forgot to mention that this would be using the fido2 function instead of a otp which could still be fished or reverse engineered

Google actually produced a really fascinating documentary on their security. It's called "Hacking Google", and it's free here on YouTube. The first episode covers the major 2009 hack you were referencing, and how they prevented any other hacks after it.

As an IT Tech, we've implemented these where I work. These keys are also great to allow employees with no work cell phone be able to authenticate via MFA. These are a life saver and are pretty easy to configure.
