Welcome to the Hellcat Kingdom good buddy. So a few things about why the TRX is such an amazing road trip vehicle: Ram actually had the springs in development in tandem with the Bilstein shocks for over 3 years. As Ralph Gilles explained to us, they didn't develop the TRXs suspension in a piecemeal style. It literally was developed as one unit. I know the Ford guys swear by the Fox shocks, and they are good(not King good though), however the Bilstein shocks were in development in 2016 logging 100s of thousands of miles for R&D purposes(those shocks are only fitted to the TRX). It literally shows in how nothing upets the ride of the TRX, despite its prodigious weight, width, and height. One other trick Ram deployed was the 5th shock damper on the rear diff, which cancels out even more vibration and tremor associated with all trucks. Ram further pushed development by creating a 76% new frame specifically for the TRX. That helped to add insane capability as well as increased refinement, despite all of the offroad hardware. And yes, even the tires are TRX exclusive. Yes, they don't have the name of a KO2, but being Duratrac based and better tire wear ratings, they have their pluses. So when I hear people say "tHe TrX iS a OnE TrIcK PoNy"...they clearly have not read up on any of specifics of the amazing beast. Oh, get a Shell card and become a loyalty member. I get 20c off per gallon of good ol 93 for my Hellcats! 10 SMILES PER GALLON GOOD BUDDY!😁

I get 13 MPG’s on the highway in my 22’ TRX! Stop doing pulls, that’s what eats all the gas. Staying under 70 MPH also gets better mileage. That’s the best way to get good mileage on a road trip.

LOL. If you can afford a 95K truck payment, 10 MPG is nothing... LOL.

If you spend 100k on a truck and worry about fuel economy you should have kept your prius

Hi Ben - been watching your videos for awhile and really appreciate the insight. Current Trail Boss with 6.2 owner and am about to go truck shopping this weekend. After hours of studying, I have committed to the TRX over the Raptor 37 package.

It’s such a weird sensation watching this video, it looks like the entire right half of your truck is over the lane. Obviously in real life, mirrors probably help a ton, but something this wide would definitely take some getting used to for me at least.

To get better gas mileage you have to drive in snow mode, which keeps rpm in the low to medium range

Fuel economy almost like my semi truck which is 7.7 😅 Nice truck man! Thinking about getting rebal, trx is out of my price range

That is one handsome animal! See what you mean about the fuel tank it definitely should be 40 to 50 gallon that would be awesome!!! 😊👍🎉🎉🎉

Well I get 13.8 mpg in my 2021 ram rebel 5.7l hemi v8 on average so I would guess yours would be around 12.4 also it’s a great truck the trx is my dream truck and the rebel is basically the little brother I would say still very comfortable and smooth and fast enough

The fuel range is where the Raptor will beat the trx in a Baja 500 race. The Raptor will stop less for fuel and has a 36 gallon tank. Great review. I love both trucks.

I sat in Recaro seats at the auto show in DC, and man, those things are kind of handsy. I felt like filing a restraining order against them because of how they gripped around my waist and hips. #metooseats

Very cool truck, Ben. I can't imagine spending that much money on a depreciating asset like a truck, but if you got the cash to treat yourself, seems like you are having a great time with it. I had a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and the leather seats on that were still the most comfortable I have sat in. Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep do know how to make comfortable seats.

Needs a fuel tank on tow for road trips, this has the fuel economy of a motor home

No one buys this truck for fuel economy and suggest if your on a budget forget this truck but will miss out on pure joy

Awesome video Ben. Anyone heard a rumor about a 6.4 liter naturally aspirated TRX in the near future?

I was watching with tears in my eyes...petrol in Hong Kong is around US$3/litre (US$11/gallon)!

Great job, tfl averaged 10.5 coming home when they bought it but average higher 12s now, so maybe yours will do that too.

Great video...The truck really isn't 702 hp when you factor the loss. So let's say 30% drivetrain loss equals 491 hp. When you're driving, your only using 491 hp if you were to max out in speed, so while driving let's say you're using 390 to 400 hp. But what really makes the driving experience is the tuning and gearing. I believe if you supercharged a standard Ram and tuned the shift you would get the same performance, maybe better, but better MPG. Because the truck is governed at 119 mph est..So there's so much horsepower that is being unused.
