"Is Texas the Future of America"
Presented by Steven Pedigo
Professor of Practice, LBJ School of Public Affairs
Director, LBJ Urban Lab
Like the cliché, everything in Texas is bigger, for better and for worse. Its economy is humming, but it is rife with geographic and economic inequalities. It is the second-most diverse state in the country, but its politics are hopelessly divided. Its industries are charting the future, while its political leaders are mired in the past. If Texas can find a way to break its cultural, economic, and political gridlock and move forward, can America?
