Magic Man - Robert Winters And Fall - 1980

A native of Detroit, Robert Winters was stricken with polio at age 5 and unable to use his legs thereafter. An accomplished piano player, Winters did alot of session work for a variety of artists. He and his performing partner, Walter Turner,who comprised Fall, finally got the opportunity to record themselves and in 1980 released the first of two LP's. The title track of the first LP was Magic Man, which went to #11 on the Cash Box chart, week ending 4/25/81. A beautifully crafted and sung ballad, it would mark the high point of Winters career output.

The brother behind Robert Winters is Walter Turner, a good friend of mine, who never really mentioned that he was a part of a famous singing group. Humble and talented. Drives around S.F. in a Rolls should've been a clue huh?
