After 18 years our pool timer gave up. I forwarded your video to my husband, he pulled the original unit apart, ordered a new timer from eBay, and easily installed it thanks to your video. 😉

Mark,
I have viewed many videos covering this problem. However, your video is one of the best, and I recommend it to all.

Unfortunately mine turns off but not on. The On tab doesn't look damaged. This is a very helpful video and well done. For those who would rather replace the entire thing look in the lower right corner at 6:07 and you will see (upside down) T104. That's the entire unit. Just get that instead of wasting 20-30 for just the motor when the whole shebang is $55.

This was very helpful, just seeing how the unit is attached and how easy to detach. Our unit stopped being adjustable, the time disk would not pull out or push in - frozen in some way. After seeing your video, I was able to tip it out and squirt some penetrating oil back onto the shaft (fortunately we have another working unit so I could see what slides and what doesn't), worked it a bit, and it loosened up. I then applied a heavier oil (just some household 3-1 type) to hopefully keep it lubed, although it might actually deserve a grease of some kind.
