I love this guy. I want him to explain everything I don't know about tech to me. So friendly and informative!

There was a time where I used to watch tv in black and white in a 12 inch tv and i was hoping my parents would upgrade to a 17 inch blac k and white tv. We have come so far.

Soap opera effect looks AMAZING on my low budget entry Hisense 4K TV. It's done just right, just enough soap opera effect to make the characters look hyper-real and the settings stand out almost like you're taking a 4D rollercoaster ride.

Our first TV was a 13 inch black and white TV in a giant box. no remote. very few programs (1949) In 1963 we had a 17 inch Zenith with a remote control (Black and white also) Plus we had in 1959 a color tv that was a console. no remote. We were told by a tech that never buy a new tv with new features the first year it comes out, as it needs to have the bugs worked out. We had one TV from 1997 for 20 years, but before that had about 5 or 6 inbetween. I've had the same, basic (not smart) tv about 50 inches for over 5 years. plays great 1080I. Have gotten new firestick 1080P. No need for 4k as you need a 65 inch or more to make a difference according to tech information. And yes, I am old! I will be 85 very soon!

I would like to know why some manufacturers (TCL Roku) have remotes that do not have numbers to change stations? If I’m using an antenna, how do I change the channel?

This is so good! Watch this in late 2019. Still relevant.

I am not buying a new TV, but I just enjoy the subject and your presentation of the facts around the subject is praiseworthy. Thanks!

D65 is exactly 6504 Kelvin which is slightly in the bluish range of light spectrum. It’s kind of confusing to set picture to “Warm” setting which is more towards 3500 Kelvin spectrum. I find Warm setting being slightly unnatural due to its slightly orange colour. Neutral looks the most natural.

Be careful with Motion interpolation on video games, it can add ghosting and input lag which is even worse for gaming.
