Actually some of the words that the minions used are not Malay. It's Indonesian. It's because the director, Pierre Coffin's mother is Indonesian.

Time for Minions Theory. Gru is a time traveler. In Minions : The rise of Gru, Gru meets Dr. Nefario at Criminal Records. However, with the cameo in the original Minions, this is physically impossible as Dr. Nefario is demonstrating the freeze ray. Keep in mind the original Minions takes place before Rise of Gru. Well maybe Dr. Nefario just doesn't recognize Gru in the ROG (Rise of Gru). Well, that holds some ground because Dr. Nefario is a busy man. However, at the start of ROG, Gru has a cheese ray, an obvious reference to the Freeze ray that Dr Nefario is showing off at the stand. This means if Gru made a cheese ray based off the freeze ray, Gru would've said "Oh hey I remember you from VillanCon" but he doesn't. The only explanation is that Gru is a time traveler. But remember, that's just a theory, A MINION THEORY! Thanks for reading.
