I know Broly is one of the most overrated characters in the franchise, but I think there is some reason to the hype. Broly was the first sayian to really live up to the legend. Before Goku became an SSJ all we heard was how SSJ were these insane killing machines who were ruthless and unstoppable and Goku does it and is completely contrary to all that. Broly is just a monster who has no remorse or sympathy for anyone but himself and that's what people were expecting when they first heard about SSJ's. Granted his reason for hating Goku is absurd and comedic but he's still a badass character.
