If you're not able to access "BOX" component through the get node here 3:04 then through the get node "Cast to Base Box Bp" and you'll be able to access the "BOX" component through that cast node

Why not use a blueprint interface for this? Rather than each actor having its own blueprint, you could just make a pickup function coded into the character blueprint which will pick up all actors of any type

Also, instead of hard-coding the E key you should add an action mapping for "interact" which you can set to the E key. That way, if you wanted to play the game with a controller or give the player the ability to change his key binds, you can do that without having to go back and rewrite this code

at 3:01, for some reason, i cannot get the reference static mesh for the base item. i just get the root component, idk what happen, i need help with this issue pls.

Hi! I was wondering if you could help, I am following this video step by step, but when it comes to the Get Box reference at 3:07 All it say is get root component, I am very new to unreal and blueprints so I have no idea why this is happening :/
