Great video as always.

On my ow cert dive in a quarry, the group planned an ambitious dive to see many things. I went through my air far faster than others. Especially as i was trying to keep up. I was monitoring my air closely. At 700psi, i ascended to 15 feet. As we were heading in. I was looking at my spg every 30-60 seconds. It was a total pita. I knew then that i would get ai. Its so convenient having it available all the time with just a glance. Not to mention monitoring sac as i look to improve it

I just bought mine wioth a swift transmitter a couple of weeks ago after watching your review... great computer.. love it.. thanks for all the good work... and an extra perk is that they are Canadian as well.. so technically I am supporting local

I’ve have air integration. I’ve been on a dive when my computer failed. I was *very* glad that I hadn’t given up a traditional submersible pressure gauge.

I've been diving for 40 years, I bought a non intergrate computer 5 years ago, this year I ditched it for the Peregrine TX - I'm not going back, having the AI is perfect. Not having to memorise tables and no stop limits is great. Every diver should use a computer on every dive, and preferably an AI computer.

When our son started diving with me 4 years ago at age 15, my wife (she doesn't dive) insisted that I maximize the safety factors. One of my solutions was to get myself a Shearwater Perdix AI with two transmitters. I mounted one of the transmitters on my 1st stage, I mounted the other on my son's 1st stage (both on a 6" HP hose). I also got him a hose-mounted AI dive computer (Aqualung 550 series) so he can keep track of his own dive data.
With this setup, we're both diving on computers (safer than tables, IMO, and both are NITROX-capable) and as long as I'm diving next to him (he's my buddy so I'd better be pretty close, right?) I can see what his air pressure is without distracting him - usually this is a drive-by as I swim past him. The Perdix reconnects to his transmitter pretty quickly if I've gone out of range.
I also have a separate analog SPG on my rig.
I love the Perdix AI it's bombproof and way more capable than I'll probably ever need.

#askmark would it be possible to explain how the SAC rate is calculated in the shearwater? It seems different that the SAC rate calculation that you can find in internet. I also know that everybody is different and the condition also affect this consumption, but what value would be a average SAC rate vs a good SAC rate?

The most important? Do you take transmitter apart every time you need to change?

You should mention that some vendors already have two types of incompatible transmitters on the market (Suunto, Mares) and it is really needed to double check for transmitter type. Especially when buying second hand.

I had paired my Perdix AI with Aqualung transmitter

As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing else one should consider other than Shearwater.

#askmark - 4 dives on my Perdix 2 and loving the AI and the easy to read screen and functionality. Here's another question on SAC rate. Perdix is telling me my average SAC is 20.4 psi/min. My introductory understanding is if I want to convert to cubic feet/min (RMV - using DAN's definition) I would need to factor in tank volume and working pressure. Does Perdix allow for this? I have two tanks I routinely use that are slightly different. I don't see where I can enter "Tank 1- 100 cu ft, 3445 psi" and Tank 2- 100 cu ft, 3144 psi" in the computer. Shearwater associates the AI serial number to the tank to support up to 4 transmitters. How about managing multiple tanks with one transmitter.

Just wondering, how good is the mares genius dive computer, with transmitter ??, any good suggestions for other good computers with transmitters ? And for beginners?

I got a peregrine tx/swift - so you are saying only have to do initial pairing to the serial# and no more after that?

Is there a low battery alarm transmitted from the AI sender to your computer?

Mark, do you know of any studies on the effects of Bluetooth transmitters on underwater flora & fauna?

I'm curious to know if any sea life are sensitive to BT and how it may affect them.

#askmark When diving with both an AI transmitter and an SPG, with the AI transmitter using the HP port over your left shoulder so it is on the same side as your dive computer, how do you route the hose for the SPG? Is it an issue that the SPG hose is coming from the right HP port but still needs to be on the left thigh D-Ring? Or would you recommend putting your dive computer on the right hand?

#askmark please do share some tips for storage and maintenance of the transmitter. I just purchased the Perdix 2 and Swift and has a chance to break it in last month. Given the investment in it any tips would be super helpful!

The sticker on my Apeks transmitter has come off and now I can’t connect it to my DSX as for some reason Apeks are one of the only MH8A transmitters that don’t etch the serial number on…completely stupid. Does anyone know if I’ve overlooked something here, otherwise I have a perfectly functional transmitter sat on a shelf

#ask Mark, this may be a stupid question but I was curious as to how the pressures from a 3, 000 psi tank to a 30 PSI is actually stepped down is it a metered orifice or a diaphragm with a spring load?
