Admissions 101: Is it bad to apply exploratory track?

Exploratory tracks are a great option for first-year students who don't know what they want to study. The program helps students consider and declare a major based on their interests, eligibility, and academic proficiency. Choosing Exploratory Track for your major will not hurt your application.

Exploratory tracks are a great option for students who aren't sure exactly what they wanna major in, which is totally normal and great. A lot of students ask me, is that gonna reflect poorly on my application if I don't know exactly what I wanna study, and is it bad to put an exploratory track as my chosen major?

Absolutely not. I think it's a great place to start. I wish I had started in an exploratory track, because it's a really nice way to just, again, explore, get to know different options, get to try out different types of subject areas that you may not have even had the opportunity to experience in high school, and just have the ability to take your time and not feel rushed into choosing exactly what you wanna study.
