We've got lots of 1KD vehicles in Belgium: Hilux, Prado and Hiace. I've never heard of cracked pistons because of faulty injectors. All engine failures over here are due to blow by and blocked oil pickups (oil starvation). I've seen most of your videos and believe that faulty injectors are a real problem in Australia. I've got a THEORY on injector wear in quiet warm countries, such as Australia. It's rarely hotter than 25 °C in Belgium so the diesel stays cool, oily and 'soft'. I believe the high temperature (because of the climate) of the injected diesel in Australia is much harder on the metal components of the injector. High temperature diesel under commonrail pressures becomes a cutting fluid.
It's just a theory... Greetings from Belgium
