What If We Brought Europa's Ocean Water to Earth?

Показать описание
Deep under Europa’s thick icy surface lies an ocean larger than all of Earth’s oceans combined. But it’s pretty useless way out there. Let’s ship that water back to Earth. How would you be able to mine the water from under all that ice? How long would this whole expedition take? And would this water even be drinkable?

You didn't tell us enough about the impact of what will be happen if the Europa's ocean water successfully transferred to Earth or merged with Earth's ocean water, such as to the Earth's ecosistem and shaped of continents, etc.

Jupiter's magnetic field is the largest entity in the Solar system (3 million miles). It is larger than the Sun. It would kill a human in an instant. We would need ships made entirely of lead if humans were involved in this project, and they had better stay inside that ship. Also, Europa is about 390 million miles from Earth. It would take almost five years just to get there.

The costs for such an endeavor could not even be calculated, much less the engineering it would take to create everything we would need to get their and mine it. Here is a better idea: Why don't we first stop poisoning Earth's water and learn how to deal with brine more efficiently so we could create de-salinization systems to utilize the vast oceans of water here on Earth?

I agree with the fact that we need to end our usage of fossil fuels, with the exception that it takes year's and billions to transition to more clean renewable sources of energy.

Compared from the 80s and 90s the amount of Co2 getting pumped into the atmosphere is so much less

Can anyone tell me if there's ever gonna be what if discussed podcast new season anytime soon? I've been waiting for this for so long and I've been a fan of this podcast and my main reason to download Spotify in the first place was to listen to what if discussed podcast. It was really a great show and i really hope they don't cancel it.

You should do what would happen if Europa gets knocked out of orbit from Jupiter and is sent to the Habitable zone orbit like Earth. I’m sure that icy surface will start to melt and the planet could possibly another earth. Seriously This has been a dream of mine of what it will take to get a planet out of orbit to another zone.

The scientific community says that there's more water trapped deep under the surface of Earth than there is on the Earth's surface.

Those red red stripes on Europa remind me of Earth's rocks that gone through great oxidation event

BaD Humans never had felt the amount of pain that they deserve for what they've done into our society

They need to send someone or some kind of equipment to test the water at Europa to see if it is compatible with earth's living things, including us. Then again wouldn't not it be easier, and less expensive to go to the glaciers and bring them back by boat and put them in desserts. Like the Sahara, Mojave, and other desserts?
