Xebec did not have the Yami Yami no mi. It would be cool but at the paramount war, Sengoku was surprised at the use and capabilities of the Yami Yami No Mi. This wouldn't make sense because Garp, Sengoku, and Tsuru joined the marines at the same time. Meaning he would have to be an Admiral or Vice Admiral and his fruit and Xebec would be infamous across the world. Whitebeard was known along with his fruit. Same as Boa and Law. Wouldn't someone stronger than Garp and Roger have a famous devil fruit so no he didn't have the Yami Yami No Mi.

Bcoz blckbeard is a genius, and he knew about it that when he was in whitebeards crew he can do anything without any effort to find that dark fruit. He was so obsessed to that yami yami fruit so hes goal is to use whitebeard and play under hes umbrella bcoz WB is an emperor that time who can easily conquer anything, that is why when they find the yami yami fruit he kill Thatch who find it first and then flew and form hes new crew, bcoz he know with that yami yami fruit he has the advantage to defeat all Devil fruit users. That is why he will do anything even if it means killing his own crew just to fulfill his goal. Xebec is the reincarnation of Black beard in addition he has the yami yami no mi and whitebeards devil fruit while Roger is the reincarnation of Luffy and in addition he has this Devil fruit of Joyboy/nica God of Sun.
