PM Sir Keir Starmer holds news conference at Commonwealth Heads of Government summit

On the final day of CHOGM, the prime minister is set to deliver a speech on Russia's threat to global stability as Putin ramps up attacks on the Black Sea.

Sir Keir Starmer is also likely to comment on Israel's latest airstrikes on Iran, which they say was in response to "months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel".

It’s odd. Many commonwealth countries would be significantly worse off without influence of the U.K. but the sniff of a windfall (however unrealistic) means they risk antagonising it to the point to leaving. These freeloaders should be grateful with what they’ve got and their ongoing benefits to the membership of this institution.

I don't want to be disrespectful but I find it irritating when journalists ask questions about British internal affairs in an international press conference. I don't think the representatives of the Commonwealth countries are interested in internal problems in the UK. I think sticking to international affairs, especially Commonwealth related ones, would be a better practice.
