Sir Keir Starmer told ministers there was a “huge amount of work to do” as he chaired the first meeting of his new Cabinet on his first full day in Downing Street.

The Prime Minister told his top team it had been “the honour and the privilege of my life” to be invited by the King to form the Government after sweeping to an historic victory at the polls.

In brief remarks at the top of the meeting, he told ministers: “We have a huge amount of work to do, so now we get on with our work.”

I think a vote of no confidence in this labour government should be raised.

I hope you are ready for more poverty. We need a government that cares about the British public and not its inclusion to diversity and ignorance of anatomy.

Show us how many disabled people unalived (you tubes pathetic censoring) themselves, due to tory cuts and open hostility towards the sick and disabled. They fought numerous court cases to keep it hidden. Now is the time to make it known and give all those now gone, some respect. Let the public see what the tories did.

It's interesting. 33% of the vote. 60% turnout. That's around 15% of the electorate for 400 odd seats. I think it means as soon as they do something the public don't like, they'll be out like hot potatoes.EDIT: at the end of their term, obviously.

I struggle to understand how on earth that woman in the orange dress managed to reach one of the highest offices in our government. I am not aware of any level of qualification she has attained. The same could equally have been said about Truss and many others but I had hoped we had somehow raised the bar and things would improve. How wrong could I have been. I am confident it won't last long but the damage caused will never be recovered from. We are still dealing with the aftermath of the Blair years and so we should not assume we have much of a future ahead of us. Sad days for us all I fear.
