US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is the highest ranked US official to visit in 25 years. White House officials have said that nothing has changed in terms of the US adherence to One China Policy. CNA's Simon Marks explains.

I feel sorry for my relatives and friends in Taiwan because they will suffer the consequences of Pelosi's visit. Mainland China will either stop importing their products or have started. Despite suffering economic losses, they still have to pay taxes for their government to buy weapons from the US. Pray that there will be no war so that they will not have to suffer even more.

This is probably the most reckless and irresponsible administration in living memory.
We don’t have anyone that qualifies as a statesman. Statesmanship involves advancing American interests of the least cost the American people. None of that is in play here. We are dealing with a group of posers. People who are posturing, posturing is not statesmanship. The American people need to understand something that no one has bothered to tell them. The during World War II, Taiwan was the unsinkable aircraft carrier of the imperial Japanese armed forces. All the major invasions of China were launched from Taiwan. Beijing will not allow taiwan to become a garrison state for American armed forces or Japanese armed forces or any foreign power. If they think that we are going to align ourselves with taiwan, if they think we are going to intervene to defend that island in the event of a dispute then we will be at war with China for the reasons that I just outlined. We are not prepared for that.
We are grossly overstretched. We don’t have the logistical infrastructure and frankly it is an old adage that everyone should remember. A ship’s a fool to fight a fort. You have to fight China from the sea. We can’t win that. China can observe everything we throw at it and the Chinese are happy to sit there, let us travel thousands of miles to reach them and then sink

It’s time US needs to stop meddling with global politics. If it’s not broken now, why fix something when there isn’t anything immediate to fix. What the current US administration needs to focus urgently is their domestic affairs like the impending recession, gun control, health care and rising hate crimes.

China's attention is not on Taiwan but rather the USA. It's a very smart misdirection methodology implemented. China already beaten up Taiwan 267 times (The Iand they took from Taiwan nationalist is 267 times bigger that what little Taiwan has left). CCP can easily beat Taiwan again for the 268 time whenever they want to. Every year 100, 000+ Americans die from chinese imported fentanyI. That's good enough for anyone to be proud of China's accomplishments.

By drawing America's attention into international matters, America then don't look at their internal issues at home (Which is a much bigger problem and getting worse each day). MentaI HeaIth, Homelessness, gun violence, mass butchering, elementary schools, starvation, no healthcare, divided country with racism, hatred, fentanyl overdose, gangs, poIice brutaIity, human rights violiation, mass illegal immigration, collapsed financial system, extreme economic downturn, record high inflation and great depression.

If she really cares about taiwan as she claims, she wouldnt never have come knowing completely well that china would retaliate and both the economy of 700 billion USD (of which china acocunts for roughly 30 percent )and the lives of Taiwanese Citizens would be at risk ...i would love to ask her, if she has a solution for these 2 problems ?A responsible leader and a decent human being would never ever act so selfishly and recklessly.
