From another stellar issue of Ultimate Spider-Man to Amazing Spider-Man being that spouse that makes you miserable and they ask "coming to bed honey?" and in Joel's case it's a "Yes dear" but said in a soul crushing manner.

The fact that Zeb Wells can't even remember simple details from the Beyond run is extra frustrating because he was on the Beyond Board! These are details he was involved with creating. It's clear that Zeb Wells and/or Nick Lowe don't care about telling a good story and are just chasing those sweet sweet controversy sales that will eventually dry up if they haven't already.

I remember in the first issue when they revealed MJ had kids, Nick wrote a blurb in the back that basically amounted to "trust us, we're telling a story, and I think you'll like where it goes", and the result of that was a crappy arc far too many issues late that clearly read as a case of "I didn't have a resolution and kicked the can down the road until I could think of one." Which is extra frustrating because I actually enjoyed Wells' issues of Beyond. Not my favorites, but I thought they were good. Ironically, Ziglar's issues were my least favorite, and he's been crushing it on Miles.

Oh, Joel, if you think this is bad, it gets WORSE! Starting in #50 & 54, Norman's sins somehow, someway, find their way BACK to Peter and he will become the SPIDER-GOBLIN, seemingly on a permanent basis!

There our lesson though, never gets your hopes up with this book until Wells AND Lowe are off the book. Or Kevin Feige does some spring cleaning with the editorial team.

I’m glad somebody agrees with me when the beyond series was really good and the costume was spectacular. I wish that they would do a better story with Ben . It’s not that hard. I just wish that this chasm story would just end abruptly and we just never mentioned it again. That they add the beyond suit and insomniac Spider-Man at some point.

Welp hate to say I told you so Joel but what is with no one actually taking down Beyond for what they did. Like Hallow Eve was the only trying to take them down in her book albeit unintentionally so but still why is everyone taking revenge on the people who are just as much a victim as them

... I want everyone working at Marvels editorial, and specifically those who do this book, to get the boot. Not once, but twice.
So many people wonder why seemingly nobody is getting into comics by themselves anymore and only watch adaptions from it, stuff like THIS is the reason. The absolute disrespect towards both the readers intelligence and fans of the characters, regardless of if they are major players or not, is stunning, and what they did to Ben (and what they will continue doing because lord know they want to make sure to never see a single cent from me ever again) just destroys any fun any joy which I associated normally with this medium.

and this isn't a single case, this happens all over Marvel for over a decade now. Best example being me getting asked by someone who got interested in actually starting to read Marvel because they liked Stingray a lot after seeing him on a random piece of merch - and I vividly remember how awkward it was when I had to explain to them how that character got treated like a joke for years.
Take I wild guess if they actually got into the hobby or not after finding this out.
and now imagine what this type of nonsense does to long time fans like me who love semi-popular characters like Ben.

I’ll say it again… Marvel is doing Amazing no favors by having it release in the same week as Spectacular, ultimate and Superior. It just really highlights how bad it’s gotten.

Ashley is doing the same that Ben did at the end of the beyond arc: blame Spider-man for something that wasn’t his fault at all.

Hmmm. Maybe Peter had the winkler machine used on him in between the end of Spencer’s run and the beginning of this one. That could possibly explain a lot of his behavior and decisions during this run.

I just thought of something… Since the solicitations have spoiled what’s going to Peter in the next few issues, maybe they didn’t “ fix “Ben here because he will need to play the hero in that story. Could be an interesting role reversal.
