I want to mention that just because I am saying that a movie had "Karate" in it, doesn't mean that's the only style used in the film. Such as Kill Bill, there is so much Kung Fu in the film as well as Karate! Jackie Chan studies several different styles beyond Karate as well. I have been getting a few comments about specifics so next time I promise I will go more in depth and be more clear. <3

Very well put together video. It was awesome hearing about the history while training with Kanazawa. You did a solid job of nut-shelling.

Looking forward to seeing more videos like this.

Finally, a history lesson that's not boring 😉 I appreciate that with the popularity of MMA, martial arts has become more practical and has more of an emphasis on physical conditioning. But I think martial arts today has become too much about competition and more for the jocks than the underdogs that martial arts was originally intended for. I miss the mystique, discipline, respect, and honor of traditional martial arts such as karate.

This series is so necessary. Most people only understand the pedestrian elements of martial arts (flash and pizzazz), and this opens the door to more complex knowledge and integration of the arts into all cultures. Keep up the great work, and I can't wait until you do Wing Chun, Kung Fu, and Krav Maga.

Nice overview! I am glad that a martial arts actor has this passion for the history and traditions of the martial arts. Kudos! Looking foward to more in this series!

Nice overview of Karate. I’m glad you included the inward philosophical aspect to it. Brings back some memories.

I hope to see more of these. Very informative. I didn't know Jackie Chan was big on Karate. He seemed more into Chinese martial arts. Though I was surprised you didn't mention Masutatsu Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin Karate. And the 2010 Karate Kid movie was all Kung Fu and no Karate (unless you could say it conveyed the "spirit" of Karate). Still, great video!

What do you think about bad karate like karate kid, and people use karate for hurt and punish without mercy and the karate respecting opponents
