I love it when people look at "senseless" data in a new way.
The man who discovered that ulcers were caused by bacteria, noticed lots of little dots in ulcer cell samples. (I'm no doubt explaining this badly.)
Everybody told him "oh, those are always there, just ignore them".
He didn't.

Won a Nobel Prize,
Has saved 10's of thousands of lives and it keeps increasing.

I don't know how you do it bro. You put these videos out almost daily and with everything going on maybe it's an escape for you. I doubt you'll ever even read this but the way you can push through things and loss at this time in the year really helps my soul. Thank you and thanks for sharing those pictures of Neil.

First of all I want to say thanks for your years of science communication and education.

As a person who spent nearly 14 years in foster care, I also appreciate your fundraising efforts with all my heart.

The sad part is I see more stars in these videos than I do when I step outside. Downside to big city living. I miss the night stars.

What I find even more exciting than the explanation for mysterious "glow" is what we are doing to find it in the first place: going back over Hubble photographs to unearth new information! Instead of filing away results in dusty cabinets, scientists are mixing and matching, sorting and re-sorting and figuring stuff out! Progress will come faster and faster.
Thanks, Anton for this update!

A curiosity, Brian May's thesis (From Queen's fame) was about Zodiacal lights.... he started it in 1973 but coudn't finish until 2007 (For obvious reasons :) ). Specifically about the velocity of the dust cloud particles.

Interesting that this phenomenon was originally treated as something to be discarded by the original Hubble scientists. It will be fun to see what they zero in on - I can definitely buy the idea of comets or Oort cloud interactions.

It's always good to re-analyze your data nothing better than a new set of eyes on an old image.

Wouldn’t the dust cloud that formed the sun and solar system continue to fluoresce above the energy level of the cosmic microwave background for a long time? Isn’t some of that energy left over?

Dr. Brian May needs to be consulted on this. His phd thesis was on solar system dust.

Dust, space isn't empty and at solar system scales that's a lot of dust, thanks for the video Anton. you make a difference.

I mean extra dust seems like a pretty reasonable explanation. Having seen videos recently about the crisis in cosmology, I wonder if phenomena like this around other stars can help explain the slight disparity when looking at far away stars. Could this explain extra luminosity that factors into those calculations? Seems eminently possible. There’s just so much we do not fully understand and when talking at these scales small extra details like this can add up.

I love the notion even though Hubble is nearing the end of its use, it may still provide provide new discoveries by re-examining the wealth of data it collected that was overlooked. It's an extra nudge against those who dismissed Hubble as a waste when it originally launched. It still manages to surpass even the most optimistic expectations.

TY Anton for showing us that light pollution isn't only an earthly problem for astronomers. 💡 🔭

Wonderful topic and update. What a telescope. My vote favors cometary dust. They've been raining in to the inner solar system from the beginning.
