It seems that some guys are still using the rubbish override redirect full screen mode instead of using _NET_WM_STATE_FULLSCREEN which provides behavior closer to what everyone is used to on Windows. It is quite masochistic for debugging Linux apps. If I recall correctly, SDL provides both options.

Its so awesome to see that linux is finally starting to mature in gaming. It has some real potential, Games can run on linux at a much higher framerate compared to windows.

Really hope that this succeeds. Im so tired of using bloatware aka windows. My OS should first and foremost be optimized for gaming, not showing pretty colors in blocks, no touch interface, no fancy graphics in the os. but games,

Ld2d while an older title, it gained quite the boost in linux, something like 40 fps more than the windows version.

Im so tired of Microsoft playing on 2 horses, they dont care about PC gamers, they only do things because they have to, Now AMD started with the mantle, then finally Microsoft does something similar, they do nothing but what they has to, and that requires the least amount of effort.

Imagine how fast games could run, if Windows was streamlined and had a gaming mode / setting. and DirectX died, and Opengl became the norm. at the moment PC is kinda brute force performance in many regards. imagine if the mantle or equal api succeeds and we get console like optimizing on the pc, its gonna be insane.
